1885 engraving print portrait of George Pillsbury (1816 – 1898) from New Hampshire. (George Alfred  Pillsbury, Geo. A. Pillsbury, Hon. George A. Pillsbury,) businessman and miller associated with the formation of the Pillsbury Company. He was also a Republican politician active in both New Hampshire and Minnesota.

Source: Portrait extracted from the History of Merrimack and Belknap Counties New Hampshire book. Edited by D. Hamilton Hurd. Published by J. W. Lewis & Co. Philadelphia in the year 1885. (This is a portrait page from the above listed book. Prints from books are usually printed on heavier paper then the text printed page, as this print is. The extracted print will have holes on the binding side and it may or may not have the protected tissue attached.

Engraving mark: American Bank Note Co. Boston.

Condition: Yellowed/tanned (increasingly more around the edge borders/margins) and some foxing spots. Some black marks/spots and a half moon mark that can only be seen while viewing at an angle to the light.

Measurements: Entire page measures about 7 3/8″ x 10 5/8″.  Image and signature (if one) measure about 3 1/2″ x 5″

If this print were matted and framed it would make a wonderful ancestral hanging.
