Vintage and original
CDV photo of Josephine Vose by E. W. Johnson in Nashua, New Hampshire.
CDV is in good condition with foxing and soiling spots.
Josephine “Josi” Vose is the daughter of Samuel H. Vose and Sarah Tamzan Upham.
Josephine Vose was born August 16th 1853 and died on July 4 1879. She was only 25 and died from Plithisis which we now call pulmonary tuberculosis (TB).
Josi’s mother Sarah Upham also died young at the age of 34 as well as the rest of her siblings, Elizabeth at age 19 and Ellen at 8 months
Written on the back of the CDV is Benja P. Kelley which is referring to her cousin, Benjamin Payson Kelley.
I believe Josephine gave this picture to her cousin as a gift.
CDV measures about 2 1/2” x 4”
