When Charles Henry Upham was born on March 27, 1863, in Merrimack County, New Hampshire, his father, John, was 27 and his mother, Catherine, was 22. He married Hannah “Bell” Isabella Woodward on June 24, 1890, in Amherst, New Hampshire. They had three children in 12 years. He died on January 8, 1953, in Amherst, New Hampshire, at the age of 89, and was buried there.
